Narrow Loss, Movement Victory

The November 7th election and the defeat of Proposition 37 by a 48-52% vote is not the end of the story.  Prop 37 is the 'shot heard round the world,' the first battle in a healthy revolution.  Keep in mind that the founder of the "Right to Know" movement, Pamm Larry, is "just" a grandmother from Chico, CA., and that it took more than $50 million ($46 million in advertising!) from corporate giants to defeat her--and us!  Everyone following the movement now knows what dirty tricks to expect from the chemical companies and how to deal with it next time.  And, yes, there will be a next time!  In fact, our California movement has already inspired a national movement--"Just Label It."
You can read a great article, 'Next Steps for the Labeling Movement", from Robyn O'Brien HERE; you can also check the "California Right to Know" page on Facebook.
America has a food movement--it is strong, vibrant, and here to stay.
