As I have mentioned before, Proposition 37 was only the first battle in the war for food security. Even after having been outspent by some $45,000,000 (yes, that's 45
million dollars...and they argued that labeling would be too expensive!) in California alone, the national grass roots movement for non-GMO food is still alive, well, and actually growing! General Mills announced this week that their original Cheerios cereal is now completely free of GMOs. The announcement must be a painful one for the corporate world to make; see it here:
Cheerios Drops Genetically Modified Ingredients.
"Under pressure from consumers and activist groups, General Mills says it
will stop using genetically modified ingredients to make its original
Cheerios cereal."
