NSA Communications Gathering Begins and Ends with Americans, Not Foreigners

The original purpose of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978, which was broadened after the September 11th, 2001 attacks, was to identify foreign terrorists.  Why are the FBI and NSA under President Obama spying only on Americans in the United States?  I suggest that we have conclusive evidence that the "War on Terror" is not about stopping foreign terrorist threats.  It is a winning and convenient scheme to expand federal control over U.S. citizens.  Andy Greenberg at Forbes comes as close as we can hope to admitting the truth of our situation via a corporately owned medium in his articleNSA's Verizon Spying Order Specifically Targeted Americans, Not Foreigners.  It's a very encouraging sign!
