Obama Unapologetic About Drone Massacre of Yemeni Wedding Party

From Storyleak:
"What is most disturbing about this very sordid and ongoing saga is the persistent refusal of the US Government to issue any kind of apology for these atrocities. Because of the CIA’s routine lack of acknowledgment of these massacres, even the citizenry of the USA seems to be oblivious to such heinous crimes being committed in their name.  They seem to occur and then are very quickly forgotten just like passing days of the week.  Clearly, this is the most serious byproduct of these barbaric assaults in foreign lands.  That the people have come to accept them as business as usual.
"Only because these frequent fatal attacks are not being conducted in Western nations are they somehow justifiable.  They have no legitimacy in international law, common law, natural law or federal law.  Simply put, the drone assassination program operates completely outside of the framework of every body of law in existence, including military law."

Western Media Ignores 'Largest Massacre of Christians in Syria'

One of the worst Christian massacres of the modern era—complete with mass graves, tortured-to-death women and children, and destroyed churches—recently took place in Syria, at the hands of the U.S.-supported jihadi “rebels," while the U.S. government and its “mainstream media” mouthpiece are, as usual, silent (that is, when not actively trying to minimize matters).  The massacre took place in Sadad, an ancient Syriac Orthodox Christian habitation, so old as to be mentioned in the Old Testament.
Sadat’s 14 churches, some ancient, were ransacked and destroyed; the bodies of six people from one family, ranging from ages 16 to 90, were found at the bottom of a well (an increasingly common fate for “subhuman” Christians).
The jihadis even made a graphic video (with English subtitles) of those whom they massacred, while shouting Islam’s victory-cry, “Allahu Akbar," which arch neo-conservative John McCain equates to a Christian saying, “Thank God." Another video, made after Sadad was liberated, shows more graphic atrocities.
Please pray for the Christians and all people in Syria and share this report.

10 Rules for Dealing with the Police that EVERYONE Needs to Know

It's a sign of the times: EVERYONE needs to learn these rules/tips to prepare for an encounter with law enforcement agents (they are no longer called Peace Officers for a reason!).  Knowledge is power, and government officials, even locally, prefer that we remain ignorant of our rights and how to assert them.  Rule #1--forcing yourself to speak and act calmly during a confrontation--may seem obvious, especially to middle-class citizens, but self-control won't come easily in real life, especially when you are innocent.  The rest of the rules are not so intuitive and we need to study them. Middle-class citizens, already a vanishing category, can expect to have more "encounters with law enforcement" as the planned implosion of our economy continues unabated.
I recommend watching this video more than once.  From Flex Your Rights.

Elian Gonzalez: From Cute Kid to "Cuban Revolutionary" Propagandist

Elian Gonzalez is back in the headlines this week after leaving Cuba for the first time since being handed over to Castro. Elian traveled to Ecuador for the 23rd World Festival of Youth and Students, where he had some harsh words for the US in an interview with CNN en Espanol.  According to the young revolutionary, it's the US's fault that his mother tried to leave and died.  Without the economic turmoil caused by the embargo, no one would want to leave Cuba.  Also, he proudly claimed not to have a religion, but that if he did, his god would be Fidel Castro! Read it here.
By the way, it turns out that the Elian Gonzalez affair is where a young Eric Holder earned his spurs: as the then Deputy Attorney General, he authorized the government raid that took the child into custody at gunpoint, without feeling the need to get one of those pesky court order things.  Read it here.
